Gaetano però porta con se le cicatrici di tutta quella sofferenza....ancora oggi teme le persone che non conosce, si lascia accarezzare e toccare, ma ancora non si fida degli estranei. Ci fa le feste e ci gira intorno contento quando ci vede, ma ancora oggi rimane un cane diffidente nei confronti degli esseri umani. Per questo per lui c'è bisogno di un'adozione del cuore, di un'adozione da parte di una persona esperta e paziente, che sappia prenderlo con calma, amore e molta molta delicatezza, che sappia rispettare i suoi tempi, le sue paure e le sue esigenze. E' un cane buonissimo con gli altri cani, accudisce come fosse un padre i cuccioli, gioca con gli adulti e convive bene anche con i gatti, in casa è pulitissimo, è infatti abituato a sporcare in giardino, sebbene non sia abituato al guinzaglio, , ama il caldo e tutto ciò che è morbido e comodo....quindi l'ideale sarebbe una casa con il giardino, dove lui possa vivere in casa e uscire fuori in giardino quando vuole, senza necessità, almeno per i primi tempi, di andare fuori al guinzaglio.
