LONDON - It finally melts intricate legal question. The Supreme Court upheld the appeal by relatives of the victims in Nasiriyah and now the Court of Appeal in Rome will have to fix the compensation previously denied.

"Il pronunciamento della Cassazione va nella direzione di un giusto riconoscimento per le vittime di una strage alla base della quale c'è una grave carenza nelle elementari misure di sicurezza per le nostre truppe". Lo afferma Bruno Ciarmoli , legale dell' Associazione Vittime Uranio . "Un discorso analogo - prosegue Ciarmoli - può essere fatto per gli oltre 2500 soldiers who have contracted serious illnesses, and in over 200 cases died, for possible contamination by depleted uranium. Also in this case it is not security, because they have not been promptly applied the standards of protection. We welcome this ruling so that it is an encouragement for all those families who have taken legal action to see their rights affirmed.
