The Tar Campania ordered the Defense Ministry to pay compensation to a military biological fell sick of thyroid cancer after being on a mission in the Balkans between 2000 and 2002.
During the mission the soldier had been exposed to radiation from depleted uranium shells used by NATO forces in the war in Kosovo in 1999. The military - we learn - had already 'received fair compensation for the nurse' because of service, but had been refused compensation for the biological damage suffered: for this he turned to the administrative courts.
